Ten Fresh Ideas for Storing Shoes

Ten Fresh Ideas for Storing Shoes

Every pair gets an address: door trays, closet racks and under-bed drawers that end the shoe pile forever.

Shoes multiply because they have no address. Give every pair one: daily sneakers by the door on a boot tray, work shoes on a low rack, occasion pairs boxed and photographed on the lid.

Use the dead spaces: an over-door rack inside the closet, a rolling drawer under the bed for off-season pairs, and one lidded ottoman in the hallway that swallows the overflow.

Cap it with the one-in-one-out rule. A new pair arrives only when an old pair leaves, and the pile never returns.
